pTools CMS for Dept of Education website

Enterprise Web Content Management provider pTools has today announced the deployment of its software for the website of The Department of Education and Skills in Ireland.
The new site aims to make information more easily available to parents, teachers and pupils throughout the country. In particular the site contains details of all schools which can be accessed through an interactive mapping tool. In addition there are links to key primary, post-primary and third level resources online.

The Dublin headquartered software company, pTools, works with a range of government customers in Ireland including the Departments of Education and Skills, Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation as well as the Taoiseach’s (Prime Minister’s) Office.

pTools recently put out a call for Web Design Partners to support the base of customers using its software in Ireland and internationally, and the website for The Department of Education and Skills in Ireland was designed by local web design firm Fusio.

Commenting on the initiative The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D, said

“I am very pleased with the re-vamped Department of Education and Skills website. It has already seen an increased level of traffic and is much more user friendly. I think it is an excellent resource for students, parents and those who work in the education sector.”

Keith Wood, CEO of pTools says:

“We are delighted to work with The Department of Education and Skills on this initiative and believe pTools software will help greatly in delivery of important information to the correct audience with greater ease and accuracy.”

Key aspects of the content management solution for The Department of Education and Skills include:

• Quick ‘Find a School’ Country-wide feature

• Information Channels for Parents, Teachers, Schools, and Pupils

• Details of Department Schools Building Programme

Delivered on a mix of database and network infrastructure the solution is designed to fit with The Department of Education and Skills overall IT and security requirements. pTools worked with web design and development partners in Ireland to deliver the site solution.

pTools works with partners to exploit market opportunities and helps partners to successfully deliver critical content management projects. pTools focus is on customers with high value content in Finance, Government, Security, and Utility Sectors.

In addition to enterprise level WCM features pTools has deep functionality for Multi-Language Content, Accessibility Compliance, Digital Asset Management, and Learning Content Management.

pTools is an enterprise level WCM software vendor with European headquarters in Dublin Ireland and offices in Toronto, London and Brno.
